Most executives delegate technology. I did too.
What I mean by “vibe coding”: using AI as a hands-on coding partner—describing what you want, testing what it produces, and iterating even if you are not a traditional software developer.
Through cumulative experience across several organizations, I became increasingly involved in conversations around artificial intelligence. These discussions focused on capability, feasibility, risk, and how technology could be integrated into real operational environments where standards, controls, and outcomes matter.
I understood what the technology could do. I understood how it was supposed to fit. What I did not yet understand was how it actually came together.
That distinction matters.
For a long time, my role was to evaluate, guide, and approve. I asked good questions. I assessed tradeoffs. I trusted capable people. I expected results.
What I kept encountering was a familiar pattern. Conversations sounded right. Explanations were polished. Outcomes were acceptable, but incomplete. There was a gap between knowing what was possible and understanding how it was achieved.
That gap eventually became uncomfortable. This website exists to close it.
The purpose here is not to document work projects or anything proprietary. It is to capture my continued AI journey through hands on, non work related projects. Projects that challenge assumptions, force clarity, and move ideas from discussion into execution. Projects where I shift from participating in the conversation to actively shaping the solution.
That shift is intentional.
What Vibe Coding Means to Me
I am not a software engineer, nor am I trying to become one.
Vibe coding is not about mastering programming languages. It is about engaging with technology deliberately. It means designing workflows, translating real world problems into structured logic, testing assumptions, documenting decisions, and iterating until something either works or clearly does not.
It is about understanding how systems think.
Once you do that, conversations change. Claims become testable. Possibility becomes measurable.
What Changed for Me as a Leader
The most meaningful changes were behavioral.
First, the quality of my questions improved. I stopped asking whether something could be done and started asking where it would fail, what data it depended on, and what would happen at scale. Teams respond differently when they know you understand the mechanics.
Second, decisions became faster. Understanding constraints removes hesitation. You know when to proceed, pause, or stop entirely. That clarity saves time and money.
Third, the noise dropped. Vendor demos became easier to evaluate. Technical jargon lost its influence. Once you have built even modest systems yourself, it becomes difficult for anyone to sell complexity without substance.
Why Executive Hands On Engagement Matters Now
Artificial intelligence is no longer emerging. It is quietly embedding itself into analytics, customer experience, operations, and decision making. Quietly is what makes it dangerous.
Executives who remain hands off risk overpaying for underperforming solutions, underestimating risk, and delegating judgment while retaining accountability. AI does not replace leadership. It exposes its absence.
This is not about ego. It is about stewardship.
You Do Not Need a Computer Science Degree
You need discipline.
Curiosity to ask how things work. Structure to break problems into stages from ideation through deployment. Standards that hold when complexity increases.
Modern tools reward clarity more than brilliance. If you can articulate a problem well, you can build something meaningful.
How I Recommend Starting
Start with a problem you understand. Design the solution before selecting tools. Build a simple version yourself. Document what works and what does not. Share the process honestly.
Not as marketing. As learning.
That process will change how you lead technical teams.
The Bigger Point
I did not step into AI development to replace engineers or chase credibility. I stepped in to lead from understanding rather than abstraction.
Executives who vibe code do not abandon leadership. They refine it.
